The Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP, www.iopp.org) has expanded this year's survey beyond the "What are you Worth?" focus of previous years. The goal is to examine where packaging professionals feel they stand in their careers regarding their position in packaging, how long they’ve been in a specific segment of packaging, and how their jobs may be impacted in the future. The survey reflects information about jobs and salaries during the year 2008.

The IoPP Salary Survey was developed with Gros Executive Recruiters to help IoPP extend its reach into the packaging community. Packaging World magazine, IoPP’s Salary Survey media partner, will publish the Salary Survey results in April 2009.

IoPP is asking participants to take five to 10 minutes to complete the survey. Answers will be completely anonymous, and those participating will receive a complementary copy of the final report. The survey will be open through Feb. 13. To participate, visit www.iopp.org/salarysurvey.

IoPP offers career transition Webinar

On a related note, IoPP is presenting "Your Career Transition: Take Charge!”, an online seminar dedicated to crafting an effective strategy when confronted with career transition. The seminar is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2009 from 10 am to 11 am Central Time. Presented by Dennis Gros, president, Gros Executive Recruiters, and Dan Elkins Ed.D, COO, Strategic Advantages, "Your Career Transition: Take Charge!" explores:
• How to evaluate your skills to get noticed
• How to communicate your value proposition
• How to ensure your resume is getting the right attention from hiring managers

“Your Career Transition: Take Charge!” is free to IoPP members and is $99 for nonmembers. For details and registration, visit www.iopp.org/webseminars. The media partner for this Webinar is Packaging World magazine.
