While the rum will be made in Cuba, it will be bottled in India, after being shipped there in barrels. A launch party celebrating the introduction of the rum will showcase Cuban culture, and will include an appearance by Cuban band New Havana. In May, a Cuban delegation visited India to assess the possibility of reigniting close business ties--in the 1980s, annual bilateral trade between India and Cuba reached $300 million. Cuba is interested in selling a wide range of Cuban goods to India, including the world-renowned Cuban cigar.
