China, India, Russia, Brazil driving packaging closure production...

Over the next 5 years, demand for beverage closures will rise dramatically, according to a report by Canadean.

Lightweight, environmentally-friendly closures will be in high demand in such varied countries as India and Brazil, China and Russia. Product differentiation, added value, and customer convenience will be addressed with closures in these increasingly competitive marketplaces. Closures for bottled water, sports drinks and beer as well as drinkable yogurts and soy milk products will require a variety of closures including screw-tops, steel crowns, and aluminum-based closures, in order to win market share. The caps and closures sector is expected to rise by 3-4 percent over the next five years, according to the report.
