China makes effort to protect foreign brand...

Two Chinese firms have been ordered to pay 300,000 yuan (37,500 US dollars) to the world-renowned French cognac producer Hennessy for trademark infringement, a Shanghai court said. This appears to be a major step by the Chinese to communicate to foreign investors that patents and copyrights will be protected--one of the biggest obstacles to entering the market.
