Biodegradable film introduced in UK

Innovia's NatureFlex films, made from cellulose derived from wood pulp, can be used for packaging fresh foods.

In addition to being biodegradable, the film is also compostable. It provides improved dimensional stability under chill conditions, the company claims. Sainsbury's is among the first to adopt the film as a means of cutting packaging waste.
