Customers can prepare one or several meals that they pack up to eat at home that night, or freeze for later in the week. No muss, no fuss. One customer says, "They do the shop and chop, we do the make and bake." The trend, which originated in 1999, lost its appeal a while ago, but now is bouncing back. The tough economy is changing the way people eat. Take-out and sit-down restaurants will undoubtedly be hurt by these assembly kitchen meals. But there is a plus side: the resurgence of families coming together and eating dinner around the kitchen table.
