In South America, Brazil leads packaging boom. . .

Growing economies and rising disposable incomes are contributing to the growth of the packaging industry in much of South America, but particularly in Brazil, according to a PricewaterhouseCoopers report.

The Brazilian Packaging Association (ABRE) estimates its country's packaging market to be worth $14 billion. Fiber packaging, including wood, held 40 percent of the market. Processed food products was the largest user of corrugated casing in Brazil, followed by fresh produce, personal care products, and beverages/tobacco.
