The North American Microwaveable Packaging Market will reach nearly 19 billion packages by 2011, growing at a rate of 11.6% per year. That’s according to Microwaveable Packaging, a newly released study from Allied Development Corp. (www.allied-dev.com).

The strong growth of microwaveable packaging is driven by the demand from consumers for time-saving products. Food preparation is very time consuming, and, as a result, food preparation is an opportunity to save time for consumers. Consumer product companies have responded with a wide range of microwaveable products.

The rapid growth of microwaveable packaging is likely to continue considering the potential to expand in the future. Microwaveable food is still a small portion of total food consumed and growth is accelerating.
