On-line and off-line high-speed inspection system

EASTPACK : Nutec Systems, Inc.

unveiled its new CSD-TS-X High Speed Inspection System at EastPack in New York. System uses intelligent sensors and smart cameras that meet the quality requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. By implementing the smart camera technology, Nutec has eliminated the manual inspection function that is normally viewed as obsolete or redundant. It also allows for easy validation as the user only needs to validate functions it will actually use.

System is designed to inspect linear barcodes, 2D barcodes, and alpha-numeric text strings. It can perform up to 3 of these inspections in any combination at 2000 scans/sec, depending on the sensor used. It assumes all inspections are "fail" until the "pass" signal is received by the sensor. A "watchdog" timer ensures that no product passes through the system until the inspection cycle is completed.

All Nutec Systems Model CSD-TS-TX system control is performed by an Allen-Bradley PLC—the touchscreen PC acts as an operator interface only, no electronic data files are created or stored as part of the system operation.
