McD's spills the beans

McDonald’s is changing its packaging to disclose the amount of calories, fat, protein, carbohydrates, and sodium in each product. The company said its new packaging will be in two thirds of its 30ꯠ restaurants by the end of 2006.

It claimed the information will be even easier to read than the nutrition labels on food packages.

While acknowledging it is a step in the right direction, critics said the information should be displayed on menu boards so consumers could compare products before they buy them.
