Fifty-one percent of consumers surveyed expected a premium product to contain high quality ingredients, while only 17% listed “more expensive” as to what makes a product premium. Packaging, fair trade, organic, and free range also were well back in the pack.

British consumers consider quality ingredients the number one factor in defining a premium product, according to a report from IGD, a British market analysis company.
