High-pressure washdown metal detector

Thermo Electron’s Goring Kerr (Markham, Ontario, Canada) introduces what it claims is the world’s very first food and beverage metal detection system that is impervious to high-pressure washdown.

The Model DSP IP exceeds IP69k specifications, which specifies proof against ingress of water from jets at a pressure of 1450-psi and at temperatures of up to 80 deg C. Another innovative feature is the incorporation of all power supply and I/O wiring directly into the detection head, instead of in a separate control box. This provides a more compact unit and eliminates any wiring that would normally run between the two in traditional systems. See it in action at Pack Expo, Booth #S-1501.
