Not surprisingly, the majority (43%) said they would sell the parts on their own site. Only 7% of all respondents expected to sell parts through a third-party site. Still, 47 machinery builders had no plans to sell parts in cyberspace, indicating that many machinery builders remain dubious over e-commerce sales, even for machine parts, much less the machines themselves.
Selling machine parts online
Packaging machinery builders are virtually divided in half on whether or not to sell spare parts via the Web. Of 95 builders surveyed recently on the Packworld.com Web site, 48 said they intend to sell parts online.
