The cased fresh fruits and vegetables (no use-by date) including packages of fresh-cut fruit salads (seven days’ use-by date) ordered over the Internet are assembled by fulfillment packer Halles Mandar. They’re applied with the TTI labels that provide a visual indication of potentially damaging heat exposure throughout the lifespan of products to which they are attached, based upon a gradual, irreversible color change. Ooshop uses Temptime’s “M” indicators, which display a lifespan of five days at 8º C (46º F) or the equivalent. The produce cases are sent to Ooshop operations where the other groceries are added to individual orders before they are delivered to customers throughout the Paris metro area.

Ooshop.com is supporting the Fresh-Check program with an aggressive marketing campaign including subway signage that describes the partnership between Fresh-Check and Ooshop.com and a frequent-buyer offer that lets customers benefit from free delivery. Ooshop.com launched a “Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Back” offer on December 5. Box copy informs consumers that the product “stays fresh to your house” and asks them to compare the active Fresh-Check color with three printed conditions: eat; eat quickly; and refuse. —Rick Lingle
