Ipack-Ima, running February 14 to 18 in Milan, Italy, is co-located for the first time with Plast 2006, the major Italian plastics exhibition.
Together, the combined shows are expected to draw 130ꯠ visitors and 3귔 exhibitors to Milan’s exciting new Fieramilano Exhibition Center. The shows will occupy some 140ꯠ sq meters.
This will be the 20th edition of Ipack-Ima, which is held every third year. The show is an international exhibition for packaging, food processing, industrial logistics, and materials handling, and it will be the pivotal European event in 2006 for these industrial sectors.
Ipack-Ima represents the entire production cycle, from processing to packaging to distribution to storage. It is organized in large thematic areas: technologies for packaging, for grain based foods, for the beverage industry, for materials handling, and for packaging materials.
The importance of the 2006 edition of Ipack-Ima is highlighted by the presence of a group of U.S. companies endorsed by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute and the Food Processing Machinery Association. A group of Russian companies coordinated by the Packmasch association is also expected.
Guido Corbella, chief executive officer of Ipack-Ima spa, stresses the increased international makeup of the show. “At the last Ipack-Ima exhibition, there were 45ꯠ visitors” notes Corbella. “An impressive one out of four came from outside of Italy. The makeup of the 1꺦 exhibitors was also international, as 29% came from outside of Italy.”
