Uniquely printed perfume cap

A specially developed printing system for Lancome’s “Hypnose” perfume caps has earned a DuPont Gold Award for France-based RPC beaute (formerly Crown Risdon).

By tamp-printing a layer of silver ink containing metallic pigments to the top of the cap, RPC was able to create a plate backing in a silver mirror-like finish. The finish is visible through the clear DuPont™ Surlyn® cap resin, creating a lush appearance.

In addition, because the perfume caps are relatively heavy and require a long cycle time, RPC met Lancome’s specified production-capacity challenge by implementing a proprietary technique that reduces the cycle time, as well as the number of cap molds and machines involved.
