To create this report, Packaging World selected 120 end-user questionnaires across a broad spectrum of companies. Of these Packworld.com respondents, 42.5% came from companies with more than 1ꯠ employees, and 15% reported company size of under 100 employees. The products made by these companies were also diverse. Slightly more than a quarter of respondents’ companies packaged foods; about 15% said their companies were medical or pharmaceutical manufacturers, another 15% reported their firms produced nonfood consumer products; and 14% of respondents’ companies made industrial products. The respondents themselves came from a variety of job disciplines. Almost one in four had a packaging title, nearly 18% were engineers; 13% had purchasing responsibilities; and marketing executives accounted for slightly more than 10% of all respondents. Company locations were similarly broad. More than 28% came from the Midwest, 20% from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, and over 15% from the West and Southwest. Respondents from Canada and Mexico accounted for more than 8% of responses.
