Introductory design for teen girls

When Caboodles The Teen Brand, Plano, IL, decided to enter the fast-paced bath and body market, its packaging ideas went to Expac Corp. (Montvale, NJ).

The result, a line of colorful packaging aimed specifically at teenaged girls on a budget, was developed and implemented by Expac. Created in conjunction with designers from Caboodles, the packages have a modern yet whimsical look. The “not little sister, not Mom” line includes body gel, cleanser, scrub, moisturizer, shampoo, conditioner and fragrance. Each product is packaged in a unique bottle. In the case of the “pinch wave bottle,” Expac determined that the alcohol-based formula required a glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate bottle, also making adjustments to gram weight to maintain design integrity and eliminate material bunching at the waist. On the market since November, the Caboodles products are available in most drugstore and club store chains for $2.99 to $5.49.
