Packworld.com’s “E-commerce, direct-to-consumer” survey included responses from 215 people who answered 14 questions between September and November, 2000. Individual questions were answered by different numbers of people. Some questions permitted multiple responses. Respondents identified food as the main product produced by their company (see chart), while 12% listed medical/pharmaceutical products, 10% industrial items, 8% beverages and about 7% each for cosmetics/personal care, and chemicals/ cleaners. The balance listed “other” as the main product produced at their plant or company. More than three of four respondents (78%) were from the United States, with 6% from Canada, 4% from Mexico and 12% from other countries.
