“Feel the science” is a tagline used by Almirall, a Barcelona, Spain-based manufacturer of dermatologicals/skin medicines, such as Balneum®. The pharmaceutical company’s products are available in more than 70 countries.
Almirall recently opted for Werum’s PAS-X Manufacturing Execution System to be installed in its plant in Reinbek, Germany, a suburb of Hamburg. PAS-X will be rolled out as a full-scope Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for the entire manufacturing process—including weighing, mass production and packaging. It will replace the facility’s legacy production management system.
The new review and release workflows aim to more effective processes as well as compliance with regulatory requirements.
PAS-X will be implemented out of the box per Werum’s implementation method of “Ready,” “Fit,” “Build” and “Run.” The benefits for Almirall include short project term and significant cost efficiency.
