Klockner Pentaplast: Corona-treated vinyl film

Pentafood® FD-M180/14 corona-treated vinyl film is now available from Klöckner Pentaplast of America (Gordonsville, VA). Film’s high-surface-tension properties allow for superior laminar bond strength for laminated barrier films for food packaging applications, company says.

Films have 1- or 2-sided corona capability that reduces or eliminates the customer’s need to have a corona “bump” before the laminating process, which results in overall cost savings. Ideal for laminating substrates for packaging fresh pasta and processed meats and cheeses where seal integrity and product freshness are critical, film improves acceptance of adhesives used in multilayer barrier laminates and thereby reduces the possibility of “bubbling” or delamination between layers.
