Charles, IL) has acquired Pretium Beverage Packers’ hot-fill facility in Reading, PA. In addition to the 314ꯠ sq’ plant, the property includes a 208ꯠ sq’ stand-alone distribution facility.—Sasib North America (Plano, TX) has restructured its Plano, TX, facility to manufacture machines for both wet and dry products, which are now centralized in the Plano facility.—Pinnacle Automation U.K. Ltd., the European div. of Pinnacle Automation, Inc. (St. Louis, MO), has opened a European Operations Center. The London-based div. operates as Automated Systems Integrators Ltd.—Rexam Medical Packaging (Vernon Hills, IL) has established a new 65ꯠ sq’ mfg. facility in Singapore, expected to open in the spring. Rexam will use the facility to manufacture its performance films and printed lid stock.—Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, TN) has consolidated its Flexible Plastics business with its Specialty Plastics business.—St. Laurent Paperboard (West Point, VA) has completed the conversion to an Elemental Chlorine-Free bleaching process at its La Tuque, Quebec, Canada mill.—Label Products & Design (Green Bay, WI) has adopted the name of its parent co. and will now do business as NorthStar Print Group’s Green Bay Div. The div. specializes in p-s labels. —Perstorp Plastic Systems (Tacoma, WA) has changed its name to Arca Systems to symbolize a new phase in the co.’s history.—Akzo Nobel Inks Corp. USA (Plymouth, MN) has opened its 9ꯠ sq’ Center for Technical Excellence in Plymouth, MN.—Amcor Twinpak—North America Inc. (Montreal, Quebec, Canada) will expand its Canadian-based PET operations, as well as the capacity of its thermoforming operations in North America.—Nordson Corp.
