Allen-Bradley (Milwaukee, WI) has introduced the Series 10ꯠ Photoswitch ClearSight sensor, suitable for bottling and packaging applications.

The sensor detects minute changes in the light pattern returned to the sensor's photodetector, enabling a control system to more accurately monitor the presence of transparent objects such as plastic film and transparent glass or plastic containers. It has a sensing distance of 1" to 48".
