Commonly found in LDPE and HDPE films, ProFresh in a foam extrusion is said to keep produce fresher due to the oxygen absorbing activity of the tray's surface. The masterbatch positively supports the blowing agent and the foaming process itself. Also, physical properties of the foam are increased, while material consumption is decreased.

Adding ProFresh masterbatch from E-I-A Warenhandels (Vienna, Austria) to PE film and PS or PE trays can delay unwanted deterioration of meats, produce and flowers.
