It has three times the weathering capabilities and can withstand UV light in external applications. Has greater tensile strength and a high glass transition temperature for processing at higher temperatures. Polymer versions are also available.

Active Industries (Willowbrook, IL) is now distributing ICI Films' (Wilmington, DE) Kaladex® polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) film. PEN offers superior barrier properties over PET, including moisture and oxygen transmission.
