PLASTIC FILM MARKETS RISING

By 2006, the market for plastic films will reach 14.6 billion lb in the United States, according to Plastic Film, a new study from The Freedonia Group, the Cleveland-based market research firm.

Low-density polyethylene will account for the bulk of this demand. The market for polypropylene film is expected to expand the fastest, at 4.5% per year, led by food packaging applications.
