INDUSTRY INDICATORS--The Flexible Packaging Assn. is reporting an 11.1% rise in the dollar value of new orders in the first quarter 1996. Meanwhile, according to data compiled by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute, packaging machinery shipments grew about 11% in 1995, reaching an estimated $3.82 billion.

PMMI also reports final figures for Expopak de las Americas showing that exhibitors in 1996 totaled 290, up from 273 a year ago, and attendees totaled 13꼠, up from 12궋 in 1995.
