Graphics inspired by Dutch master

Once San Francisco-based Skyy Vodka founder Maurice Kanbar perfected his decadent Dutch chocolate cream liqueur, it was only a matter of time before he created an appropriate package.

Pw 17432 Vermeer

Inspired by Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer, the package for Vermeer Dutch Chocolate Cream blends a rich mixture of luminous color and artistic attention to detail. The custom amber glass bottle employs a simple yet elegant design. Not only is it decorated with a shimmering label, but it also bears the embossed signature of J. Vermeer. Kanbar also selected a rich, deep gold-colored metal cap that resembles 24-karat gold. The 2-mil metallized biaxially oriented polypropylene label, with a 1-mil clear film laminate, is UV-flexo printed in eight colors. It features one of Vermeer’s most notable works, Girl with a Pearl Earring. The shine of the metallic label mimics the glow and luminescence captured by Johannes Vermeer. The label, which won The San Francisco Gallery of Superb Printing award, was designed to fit the contours of the teardrop-shaped bottle. Vermeer Dutch Chocolate Cream was introduced in limited markets in April and May and will eventually be sold nationally, retailing for $19 to $22.
