Innovation and sustainability are two major themes for Dow Chemical Co. at PACK EXPO. Dow is introducing Sealution™ Peel Polymers and Amplify™ TY Functional Polymers.

Sealution is a ready-to-use, single-pellet formulation that offers versatility for easy-open packages. Amplify TY is an extension of the Amplify family of products, with a new range of offerings designed specifically for use in sophisticated multilayer food packaging. Both polymers are targeted to food and beverage products.

A leader in plastics sustainability, Dow pioneered plastics from renewable resources, and continues to research and develop sustainability options to help customers reduce their carbon footprint. In Brazil, Dow is developing polyethylene from sugar cane. And in North America, Dow is researching ways to harness energy contained in nonrecyclable plastics to offset fossil fuel use.

In support of its 100% recyclability goal, Dow has been using recyclable polypropylene plastic cups at PACK EXPO, which are being collected by the city of Chicago as part of its recycling program.

"Sustainability remains a core component of all we do at Dow," says Jeff Wooster, North America Plastics Sustainability Leader for Dow. "It is ingrained in all R&D, testing, and planning. Moving forward, Dow will continue to offer long-term, sustainable solutions to our customers at every point in the value chain, including the consumer."
