Flair Flexible Packaging adds food scientist to their sales team

David Elliason will drive sales fueled by science for Flair Flexible Packaging.

Expanding its efforts to introduce manufacturers to new opportunities in the area of forming and lidding films, Flair Flexible Packaging appointed David Elliason to the position of business development manager based in Flair’s Appleton, WI facility. Elliason brings almost two decades of sales experience in the area of new packaging technologies for fresh and frozen food products, snack foods, bakery items, processed meats, and heat-and-eat applications.

Elliason’s background in microbiology, biochemistry, and food science, and strong understanding of modified atmosphere packaging and shelf life extension have been instrumental in several successful packaging innovation and implementation projects throughout his sales career. Today, he is eager to begin helping manufacturers discover new possibilities for improving their products and advancing their brands with Flair’s extensive line of flexible packaging solutions.

“I was drawn to Flair by the depth of product offerings,” says Elliason. “There are so many untapped opportunities here to pursue, I know I’ll always be busy.”

“David’s experience and education will bring a new level of service to manufacturers working with flexible packaging. His background gives him a unique perspective and ability to help processors improve or expand their brand by exploring opportunities in the area of thermoforming films,” says Flair’s Vice President of Sales.

Elliason is an alumnus of the University of Minnesota where he obtained Bachelor’s degrees in Microbiology and Biochemistry, and a Master’s degree in Food Science. As a research assistant, Elliason explored practical applications of research topics. His desire to bridge the gap between the laboratory and the real world led to quality control and development positions in which he was both manager and technician, creating internal company safety and sanitation programs while working with customers to develop application solutions and introduce new product concepts.
