Tekni-Plex hires new senior vice president and general manager for Tekni-Films

Joseph Horn will focus on growing the Tekni-Films global business unit as SVP and general manager.

Tekni-Plex, a polymer solutions supplier, hired Joseph Horn as senior vice president and general manager of its Tekni-Films global business unit.

Horn brings more than 30 years of business development experience, supported by a chemical engineering background. He will report to Paul Young, CEO of Tekni-Plex, and will head the company’s Tekni-Films operations in Erembodegem, Belgium; Tradate and Gallarate, Italy; Holland, OH, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“Joe’s successful track record in growing global businesses make him ideally suited to head our Tekni-Films business unit. In the past, he has spearheaded strategic initiatives that have resulted in significant sales and profit growth. He is also an innovative marketer who knows how to deliver new products that provide marketplace solutions. Those attributes make him ideally suited to head our film operations, which are focused on the introduction of innovative new materials for the medical and pharmaceutical markets,” Young says.

Prior to joining Tekni-Plex, Horn was head of global helium and rare gases for The Linde Group, AG. He was successful in driving significant growth, both organically and through joint ventures. Horn has spent most of his career in various positions with industrial gas businesses, including the BOC Group and Air Products and Chemicals.

Horn has a bachelor of science in chemical engineering the University of Illinois and a master’s degree in business administration from Rutgers University.
