Weber Packaging Solutions: Wipe-on, pressure-sensitive labeling

Weber Packaging Solutions’ (formerly Weber Marking Systems) Alpha Compact label applicator is an economical system that features a small footprint, yet uses the highly-accurate wipe-on method of application to affix pressure-sensitive labels to packages and products.

The Alpha Compact automatically unwinds its supply roll and peels the labels from their liner, then precisely applies them to products or packages as they pass by on a conveyor line. The standard unit applies labels up to 4.7-in. x 11.8-in. at speeds up to 164 ft./min., with ±0.03-in. placement accuracy.

Can be oriented to apply labels to the sides, tops or bottoms of packages. To accommodate various production environments, the unit can be specified for right- or left-hand applications.

The Alpha Compact is available in three separate interfaces:

• An external panel that provides control through a pair of potentiometers and push-buttons;
• an external LCD display;
• and USB connection that permits PC-based configurations.

Each version features rugged die-cast aluminum construction, single-key calibration, automatic recognition of missing labels, in-production speed adjustment, and more.
