Krones, Inc: Krones, Inc: Hygienic overlidding

The Krones Taxomatic labeler uses new technology to apply foil to can lids as hygienic protection. The hygienic protection is a fully recyclable aluminum foil.

In addition to protecting the can closure against soiling, the can foiling option offers visual enhancement. The printable foil offers additional advertising area. In a tunnel at the Taxomatic’s infeed, a UV lamp destroys up to 99.8% of all microorganisms located in the lid area. The cans are then passed through a worm to the infeed startwheel. Using a food-quality cold glue and a special centering bell, machine places a sheet of foil on the lid. In a separate carousel, the lid is gently pressed on and molded to the can’s shape.
