These sequential or random alphanumeric codes can be applied and matched to units. Codes are applied overtly or covertly during packaging, read in-line automatically, and uploaded to a central server. At each stop during a product’s journey through the supply chain, codes are scanned and information is relayed to the server where it is accessible to authorized personnel.
