The HIDE-Pack Smart Box embeds an RFID within the box structure, providing companies with increased efficiency in the supply chain, reduced inventory costs, increased order accuracy, reduced loss due to theft and piracy, and simplified product recall, according to its maker, Krupack Packaging.

The Canadian packager says the RFID-enhanced packaging is a dramatic improvement over barcodes. The chip does not need to be in the reader's sightline to be read—vastly improving productivity and efficiency. Additionally, the boxes are 100% recyclable, and the RFID device runs in a passive mode, only using energy when activated by a radio signal.
