Kimberly-Clark makes Gen 2 label selection

RSI ID is selected by Kimberly-Clark Corp. as a provider of Gen 2 RFID labels.

RSI ID Technology announced February 27, 2006, that it reached an agreement to become the provider of RFID labels for Kimberly-Clark Corp.

"We selected RSI ID Technologies because of the high-yield rate on its tags, customized intelligent antenna design, strict quality control standards, and the capability to expand its technology to meet our increasing tag levels," says Gary Clement, technology development manager in the Auto-ID Sensing Technologies group for K-C. "For us, performance and price were key factors in selecting an RFID label supplier."

K-C has established its own RFID research lab in Neenah, WI, in an environment that closely matches the supply chain conditions of their customers, enabling K-C to ensure the RFID tags selected consistently meet customers' performance standards.

This announcement is the second month in a row that K-C has gone public with its choice for RFID hardware; this follows on the heels of last month's article, Kimberly-Clark selects Alien Gen 2 readers.
