The Model R300 was installed at Unilever/Best Foods in April. After the show, the butt splicer will be added to the line to produce Unilver’s new line of Hellman’s flavored Dippin’ Sauce that is scheduled to begin distribution to the U.S. market in December.

With shrink-sleeve labels supplied by Coastal Sleeve Labels (soon to be acquired by Fort Dearborn) the butt splicer splices the full-sleeve labels at up to 225 fpm. The labeler uses a servomotor sleeve-feed system to provide precise label registration and application. It can apply PVC, PETG, and OPS sleeves up to 350 cpm.
