P&G, Wal-Mart on CorrExpo program

When merchandising executives from top retailers speak, packaging people tend to listen.

So packaging executives may want to be in Indianapolis, IN, October 28 to 30, at the Indiana Convention Center for the 2002 Intl. Corrugated Containers Conference as part of CorrExpo, sponsored by the Technical Assn. of the Pulp & Paper Industry (Atlanta, GA).

As part of the conference, a panel session on Tuesday, October 29, will discuss the Future of Food Packaging. Panelists include Cynthia Forsch of Albertson's, Bud Babcock of Procter & Gamble, ConAgra's Roger Landrum, and Bruce Peterson of Wal-Mart. Session chair is Cassie Rothstrom, Walla Walla Environmental. Among the topics the panel will discuss are returnable plastic and corrugated containers, terrorism and packaging, producer responsibility, and retail and consumer satisfaction.

Babcock and Steve Van Fleet of International Paper will participate in a Monday session on RFID in Supply Chain Packaging. Another workshop on Monday will cover Package Safety and Security in Today's New World, including the most frequently asked questions from customers as well as record-keeping requirements. Another panel on Monday will examine Box Transit Performance with key management people from United Parcel Service, Federal Express, IBM, and DuPont. —AO
