FPA publishes 2017 State of the Flexible Packaging Industry Report

The U.S. flexible packaging industry continues to experience positive and steady growth according to the Flexible Packaging Association’s (FPA) 2017 State of the Flexible Packaging Industry Report.

The report says 2016 annual sales for U.S. flexible packaging were about $30.2 billion, representing 19% of the $164 billion U.S. packaging industry. FPA notes that makes flexibles the second-largest segment behind corrugated paper. The U.S. flexible packaging industry has grown steadily over the past 10 years with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 1.9% and a 2016 annual growth rate of 2.4%. FPA estimates that the industry will increase to $31 billion in 2017.

FPA serves as the voice of the U.S. manufacturers of flexible packaging and their suppliers. The association’s mission is connecting, advancing and leading the flexible packaging industry. Its annual State of the Flexible Packaging Industry Report provides converters, suppliers, investors, and analysts with insight into the performance (growth, revenue/volume expectations, profitability, capital spending) of the U.S. flexible packaging industry over the past year.

The FPA 2017 State of the U.S. Flexible Packaging Industry Report is a benefit of FPA membership and is available in the Members Only section of its website. The report is available to non-FPA members for $3,500.

The report data also examines several other aspects of the U.S. flexible packaging industry. including:
