Natrasorb® 900 moisture adsorber

NatraSorb 900 MoldedNatrasorb® 900 offers a moisture adsorber and a structural part in one and can replace product components such as:* Metal or plastic parts* Ballasts* Insulators* Shock pads and more Natrasorb 900 offers several distinct advantages for your packaging:* Extremely versatile composition has high moisture-adsorptive qualities, yet has good strength* Can be machined like nylon or aluminum* Ideal solution where restricted space or weight limits are an important design criteria* One or more structural parts may be made of Natrasorb 900, providing the needed adsorptive capacity without adding to the bulk weight of the product, component, or assembly Typical applications include:* Electronics* Refrigeration* Optics* Aerospace Controlled Adsorption RateNatrasorb 900 is an activated crystalline silico-aluminate with organic binders which gives the finished desiccant properties similar to those of thermoset plastics.

It will adsorb readily moisture, but its high density slows the rate of adsorption. This is a decided advantage in assembly operations, since it restricts the amount of moisture the desiccant will pick up during handling. Exposure time of up to 2 hours can be permitted without deleterious effect under certain conditions.

Easily Reusable

Natrasorb 900 is furnished in its activated (dry) state and can dehumidify atmospheres to a -73°C (-100°F) dewpoint. Depending on the size, thickness, and configuration of the molded or machined part, the desiccant will reach its equilibrium capacity in about 10 to 100 hours. Reactivation of the Natrasorb 900 desiccant shape may be accomplished by heating at 175°C (347°F) in a vacuum of less than 0.1mm of mercury for a period from 12 to 24 hours.
