Oak Brook, IL-based U.S. Can Co. plans to open next year its first overseas manufacturing plant, a 330ꯠ sq' aerosol container making facility in Wales, UK.

The plant will be the first to install a new-generation three-color Fastready press with UV curing, and a coating machine, all from Crabtree of Gateshead Ltd. (Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, England). The plant will also contain machinery for coil cutting, end making and two assembly lines for steel aerosol containers. The Wales facility will reportedly supply decorated containers to the Reading, England, plant of Gillette Co.
