Glossary

Bundle wrapping: A flexible-film option for heavier and larger multipacks of two to 12 units that offers a surface for high-impact graphics, using primarily print-registered polyethylene film. The film’s thickness (1 millimeter to 1.5 millimeter) supports the weight of bottles, cans, and jars without the need for paperboard cartons, trays, inserts, or pads. The film’s thickness provides package-carrying strength and tamper-resistance.

Shrink wrapping: A flexible-film option preferred for multipacks ranging from two bottles of juice to a 24-pack of bottled water, and needing simple barrier protection. The film (.45 millimeter to .75 millimeter) is heat-shrunk to the contour of the package’s contents. Trays, inserts, or pads often are required to enhance package strength.
