After filtering out some responses, the invitation-only survey garnered 182 responses that represented 89% end users with the balance made up of contract packagers.
A full third of respondents came from the food industry, with more than 14% from the medical/pharmaceutical business and the same percentage from companies that make nonfood consumer products. Nearly 11% said their companies make cosmetics and personal care products, and the same percentage came from companies that make industrial products.
In terms of company size, about 60% came from companies with 500 or fewer employees, but 22% reported their companies employ more than 2ꯠ employees.
