In her one year with the company, she has made significant contributions, while focusing on creating harmony between people and performance, a key business goal. Spitler has helped to guide the company through the unprecedented challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously serving as the Director of Culture and People Development, she has been an integral member of the executive leadership team, partnering with all functions to identify potential opportunities for team members and the business.

“Heather has truly embraced our aim to transform the CPD team into one that not only fulfills its traditional HR responsibilities, but also one that works with our leaders, serving as knowledgeable, engaged and trusted advisors,” said Pete Carlson, President of BW Integrated Systems, a Barry-Wehmiller packaging company. “Our goal remains to achieve harmonious balance between people and performance, and Heather has quickly embraced a leadership position in that journey.”

Spitler joined BW Integrated Systems in 2019 after spending much of her career focusing on people development and effective organizational design structures with some of North America’s leading manufacturing and industrial businesses. During her career, she has led human resources teams across multiple manufacturing sites and has supported various disciplines for companies, including Signode Packaging Systems and Ideal Industries Inc.

“I believe in partnering with our leaders to help them develop strategies for elevating business performance, while inspiring people, expanding their talents and skills, and leveraging the competitive advantage of Barry-Wehmiller’s unique people-centric culture,” Spitler said. “My philosophy has always been that CPD leaders have the opportunity and responsibility to help make business better—both in terms of the bottom line and how we get there.”
