EDL Packaging, a supplier of automated shrink wrapping and shrink bundling machinery, is excited to announce the groundbreaking for a brand new 45,000-square-foot facility in DePere, WI.

EDL first opened a service center in Green Bay in 1985 to support their U.K.-based operations which was founded in the 1960s. The Wisconsin facility now operates as the primary location and is a custom-engineered design and manufacturer of industry-leading automated packaging equipment. The Greater Green Bay area has long been a hotspot for the packaging industry and EDL is proud to remain part of that community through the support of the City of DePere. Through this site transition EDL will keep all employees and has additional plans to expand through growth after the facility opens.

“We have seen significant growth across each of our Massman Business locations. The groundbreaking for EDL follows the completion of a newly designed headquarters for the Massman Companies in Alexandria, MN,” said Jeffrey Hohn, President and CEO of Massman Companies. “This venture is the latest in a series of investments that Massman has made in each one of their locations. We are extremely proud of the EDL accomplishments, and are excited for the employee wellbeing and growth potential this new building will enable.”

General Manager and Vice President of EDL, Kathryn Rowen continued, “This new facility is an investment in the Greater Green Bay Area and our people. This space is designed with employee wellness at the forefront, and will be a perfect way to showcase our capabilities to customers with an intent to demonstrate the custom-automation machines we have been designing, building, and assembling since coming to the area over 40 years ago.”

The facility is being built in partnership with SMET Construction Services and is scheduled to be complete in late 2024.
