Coding and printing equipment manufacturer Bell-Mark (Pine Brook, NJ) has recently redesigned its Web site, www.bell-mark.com, to make it easier to quickly home in on specific product information. Major product lines are divided into four sections: thermal-transfer, ink-jet coders, flexographic printers and accessories. Within each section, a drop-down menu quickly links visitors to detailed product information. The site is liberally sprinkled with PDF versions of the firm’s brochures, which contain complete technical specs.

The site of specialty packaging firm Graphic Packaging Arrow Gold (Chicago, IL), not to be confused with Graphic Packaging (Golden, CO), is notable for its attractive presentation of its packaging products portfolio, at www.graphpack.com. The site displays the supplier’s packaging for CDs, audio cassettes, padded envelopes, gift boxes, cartons and specialty boxes, POP displays, etc. A gallery page makes it easy to quickly flip through a thumbnail photo of the different packages the firm can design. A FAQ section of the site provides answers to common questions about constructing digital artwork files for packaging graphics.

Usability was also the focus of the recent redesign of Kaufman Engineered Systems’ (Waterville, OH) Web site at www.kaufmanengsys.com, a supplier of palletizers, stretch wrappers, conveyors and material handling equipment. The site sports an open, clean design that simplifies product navigation, though the site could contain more technical detail on the company’s products. Overall, top and side navigation tools flatten the site’s structure and make it easy to quickly jump from one section to another.
