FOX IV improves print-and-apply with NCR technology

FOX IV improves two-sided printer-applicators with NCR 2ST Technology

FOX IV Technologies today announces TwinPrint Print and Apply with 2ST technology printer-applicators, the next generation of its award winning TwinPrint dual-sided label printer-applicators. The release follows a new agreement with NCR, the global leader in consumer transaction technologies, to license its 2ST printing technology to FOX IV. NCR, through its Interactive Printer Solutions division, provides innovative consumable products and processes for transactions, logistics, business processes and other applications across the retail, financial, hospitality, and travel sectors.

By coupling NCR’s patented two-sided printing technology with FOX IV’s TwinPrint Print and Apply products, TwinPrint Print and Apply with 2ST technology printer-applicators enable customers to print and automatically apply a direct thermal label with variable information printed on both the front and back sides. This offers many benefits including making it easy for end users to print shipping information on adhesive labels as well as print packing slips, promotional pieces, or return labels on the backs of these labels.

Key benefits include:

  • Less Waste: TwinPrint® Print and Apply with 2ST™ technology printer-applicators eliminate the disposal of used thermal transfer ribbon and ribbon cores from your waste stream in addition to up to 60% less label liner waste. They also eliminate the cost of plastic packing slip envelopes as well as the waste generated from their liners.
  • More Cost Effective: TwinPrint® Print and Apply with 2ST™ technology printer-applicators eliminate separate packing slips or promotional pieces and packing slip envelopes, increases production time by combining two processes in one, and eliminate errors due to information mismatches.
  • Greater Data Security: When a ribbon is used, the information printed with the ribbon is visible on the spent ribbon. TwinPrint® Print and Apply with 2ST™ technology printer-applicators eliminate the ribbon thereby eliminating the risk that customer information can be stolen by reading the used thermal transfer ribbon. Additionally, matching the shipping information to packing slip information is guaranteed.
  • Reduced Downtime: Because the ribbon is eliminated, so is the additional time spent to change over ribbon stock. Only the label roll will need to be changed.

“FOX IV is proud to be the first Print and Apply company to license NCR's 2ST technology,” says Patricia Remo, Vice President Technology of FOX IV Technologies. “We see this as a great opportunity for customers looking to improve their processes while reducing waste.”

“NCR is focused on working with our customers to identify and develop products that help them manage cost, improve productivity, enhance service and grow revenue,” says Eddie Noel, Senior Vice President and General Manager, NCR Interactive Printer Solutions. “We are excited to collaborate with FOX IV and combine our patented 2ST printing technology with their products to help re-engineer the package shipping process.”

The patented design of FOX IV TwinPrint Print and Apply with 2ST technology printer-applicators enable automatic, on-demand printing and applying of dual-sided thermal labels. TwinPrint Print and Apply with 2ST technology printer-applicators are available for use with TwinPrint or 2ST labels.
