Trilla Steel Drum (Chicago, IL) now manufactures a 55-gal steel drum with a reduced diameter, designed to fit more drums more compactly into ISO containers.

The new drum measures 585 mm (23"), instead of the industry standard 595-mm (23.4") drum. This allows up to 12 additional drums per 20' ISO container, depending on configuration, says the company.
