Special shaped aluminum bottle marks a special year for Scotland

Uniting all of Scotland this year was the universal admiration of a special Diet Coke bottle to commemorate Homecoming Scotland 2014.

The limited edition 25-cL aluminum bottle was crafted and produced by Ardagh Group at its aluminum packaging facility in Beaurepaire, France, using the company’s unrivalled decorative printing expertise. Adorned in tartan and thistle, the design symbolizes the recognizable emblems of the Scottish nation.

Its launch coincides with the 50th anniversary of Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) Ltd‘s East Kilbride factory, a landmark milestone in its ongoing commitment to manufacturing excellence and innovation in Scotland.

“We were delighted to be associated with this iconic representation of Scottish industry and culture, particularly in a year when the country has hosted two great sporting events (the Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup) as well as its Homecoming festival,” said Ardagh’s Marc Bettinger, Sales Director Aluminum Packaging.

Ardagh has produced a number of recent award-winning limited-edition bottles for CCE in both metal and glass, including commemorative World Cup aluminum bottles, an ultra-lightweight glass bottle and a range of fashion designer related aluminum collector’s items. During Scotland’s first Year of Homecoming in 2009, Ardagh produced the Robert Burns special edition Coca Cola sleeved glass bottle.
