P&G's new angle on tortilla chips

Procter & Gamble has unveiled another intriguing new plastic package. Just months ago, the Cincinnati-based company began test-marketing 0.81 oz of Pringles in a single-serve cup injection-molded of polypropylene (see PW, Oct. ’01, p. 2, or packworld.com/go/pringlepak). This time it’s Torengos Tortilla Chips in an 8 ½’’ tall white triangular container with 2 ¾’’ sides.

FDA eyeing changes in drug packaging regulations

FDA is finalizing its rule on reporting requirements for changes to drug packaging made after approval of a new drug application. Currently, the drug manufacturer need only note the changes in its annual report to FDA.

ESL moves Marigold into multiple markets

In September, Minneapolis-based Marigold Foods introduced five flavored milk varieties in high-density polyethylene bottles. Ultra-high temperature (UHT) processing yields a 65-day shelf life. The 12-oz Kemps®-brand varieties sell in refrigerated dairy cases of supermarkets, as well as in school vending machines.
